Contemporary

Contemporary is a dynamic form of dance.  Contemporary dance has it’s roots in Modern dance which started as a rebellion against the conformity of Ballet.  Contemporary dance today includes elements of Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance.  Any movement of the body can be used and considered valid within the form.  Moments of stillness, gracefulness, strength, control, contortion and balance are all used, to name a few.  Contemporary dances range from pure entertainment to dances that are more open to the interpretation of the observer.
